Holderness House Charity

Holderness House – a hidden gem supporting Hull and East Riding’s VCSE sector.

Once the home of Thomas Ferens, one of Hull’s greatest ever philanthropists, Holderness House, six acres of grounds and a financial investment was bequeathed to benefit local women through a charity established in his name.

For almost a hundred years, ladies have called it home but it’s now time for its next chapter.  The house is Grade II listed and we know there’s work needed to ensure that it still supports the community in another hundred years.

Whilst still in development, the longer-term plans include reverting the property and grounds back to providing independent housing and greater access to the land for the community.

Holderness House Charity also want to bring together the many wonderful voluntary and community services that support women and our wider Hull and East Riding community. With a variety of spaces available both inside and out, we’re keen to talk to VCSE groups who may be looking for a base or a venue for activities and events.
