Time to choose: How patients exercising their right to choose can help clear the NHS elective backlog report

A report from the Independent Healthcare Providers’ Network, in partnership with the Patients’ Association, finds that there are gaps in the public’s knowledge about what choices they have in accessing their NHS healthcare.  The research also found that patients do not need to travel long distances to access care more quickly. The report suggests that waiting times faced by patients could be reduced if patients took advantage of their rights to access care and treatment from alternative providers.
