The Truth About Poverty pop-up exhibition in Hull

The community commissioners from the first Hull Poverty Truth Commission, Hull City Council, and the evaluators from the University of Hull are pleased to invite you to our interactive The Truth About Poverty pop-upexhibition at 20-22 Brook Street, HU2 8LA, 

Lots to explore in the pop-up exhibition with different themes and interactive activities drawn form the first Hull Poverty Truth Commission, This includes a Cabinet of Pooriosity, Precarity Jenga, Food parcel lottery, Poverty protests, the MY Pockets film and much more. 

Join us for interesting conversations about what you think and what you would do about poverty in Hull and find out what is currently happening.

January 2025:

  • Friday 10th drop in 10.30 – 3.00 pm – engage with the exhibition and our interactive displays  1.30 – 3.30 – Cost of Living Focused discussion –   Food poverty, food banks and alternative ways of coping – led by Julie and Kate from Timebank
  • Tuesday 14th drop in10:30- 3pm – engage with the exhibition and our interactive displays  
  • Wednesday 15th Pop – up Closing event – (3:00 – 6.00) Last chance to see the exhibition and find out what we have identified throughout our time in the Truth about Poverty pop-up shop. Drop in to explore between 3 and 6pm – main activity around 4pm. Meet the commissioners and others involved in the Hull Poverty Truth Commission.
