The funding aims to support a broad range of heritage projects and activities, such as industrial sites, castles and historic places of worship, to the stories and memories of communities, and through to public parks, natural landscapes and native wildlife.
The National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) have changed their funding streams:
- Grants from £10,000 to £250,000: Open to projects of up to five years.
- Grants from £250,000 to £10million: For projects of up to five years in duration (excluding the development phase).
Priority will be given to heritage projects that have:
- A clearly focus on heritage
- Take into account all four investment principles
- Have a clear plan with a defined start, middle and end
- Have not already started
- Can demonstrate the need for National Lottery investment
The four principles from the NLHF that has come out of the 10-year strategy are:
- Saving heritage
- Protecting the environment
- Inclusion, access and participation
- Organisational sustainability.
