Domestic Abuse Team Leader

Hull City Council is seeking to appoint a highly motivated, knowledgeable and experienced individual to manage the operational delivery of the Strength to Change voluntary perpetrator programme. The programme aims to enhance the safety of women & children by engaging those who use harmful and abusive behaviours to take responsibility and accountability for their actions.
Duties will include:
- Ensuring the safety of women and children remains the highest priority and improving outcomes
- Responsibility for the day-to-day operation delivery of the Strength to Change service
- Management, supervision, and development of staff
- Ongoing service improvement and quality and retention of RESPECT accreditation
- Training and awareness for partner organisations
- Safeguarding Lead for the Councils Domestic Abuse Services
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of working with either victims or perpetrators of domestic abuse.
- Will hold a relevant professional qualification – Diploma level and above.
- Have experience and in-depth knowledge of working with the issue of domestic abuse, particularly in relation to the understanding and risk management of (potential or actual) perpetrators.
- Have experience of managing projects and teams
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, group work and presentation skills and be able to evidence a sophisticated understanding of domestic abuse.
- Enhanced understanding of safeguarding children and adults
