The Wollstonecraft Society aims to educate and inspire children about their human rights through the work of founding feminist Mary Wollstonecraft.
We want a fairer future, where children and young people from the most deprived backgrounds have a voice and can make a positive impact in their lives and community. We are particularly interested in working in areas where Mary Wollstonecraft lived and worked including Hull and East Yorkshire, where Mary Wollstonecraft lived during a significant period of her childhood. We achieve our aims by delivering aspiration-raising and meaningful programmes of work that develop children and young people’s key life skills including an increased sense of ambition, confidence and self-worth. The projects are delivered in partnership with primary and secondary schools, and local charity partners to work with targeted young people in the community aiming to reach those young people from marginalised groups and/or who face barriers in their day-to-day lives. We understand that people learn in different ways. Our delivery uses creative and interactive approaches for longer-lasting impact.
