Their charitable objects cover most areas of charitable activity so they are potentially able to make grants to a wide range of organisations. However, all grants are made within the grant-making programmes set out below.
Please note that they only make grants to organisations (not to individuals). They do not fund local organisations outside the regions of Yorkshire and Scotland.
There are four grant-making programmes – see the detailed pages on each programme using the links below:
- Planned Grants– Regular grants (normally of £500/year each from 2015) to a small number of national charities.
- Responsive Grants– This is the main grantmaking programme and their aim is generally to make twelve responsive grants per year of £500 each.
- Intermediate Grants– Under this programme they will generally applications for two or three grants of £2,000 – £3,000
- Large Grants– Each year they invite bids for a one-off grant of £20,000 in a very specific field. The 2019 deadline has now passed.
