Raising the bar on strength and balance:  The importance of community-based provision

 The Centre for Ageing Better is urging a community-based approach to falls prevention as it says falls are not an inevitable part of ageing and can be prevented

Existing NHS rehabilitation services are of limited use and should be supplemented by community-based strength and balance programmes, the CAB says in a report with the University of Manchester’s Healthy Ageing Research Group. The problem demands a sustained, targeted funding for community-based programmes, with affordable, accessible and proven options available for everyone
