The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) has launched a new home schooling resource to support parents, guardians and youth practitioners in raising awareness in grooming during the Covid-19 lockdown
Not In Our Community (NIOC) is an established local anti-grooming campaign, funded by the PCC, that helps young people protect themselves and friends against grooming that can lead to sexual and criminal exploitation. In light of the lockdown, the PCC’s office have developed some material to highlight the heightened risks across this period and to direct people to the resource available.
They have:
- Prepared a ‘Snapshot Overview’ (aimed at parents/carers and youth engagement professionals) to highlight areas of increased risk of exploitation online for young people and directing them to tools available

- Created a new ‘home learning’ section on the Not In Our Community website with links and more information which you can see here (opens in a new tab)
