Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust has announced some changes to its board.
Nick Mapstone and Jeff Ramseyer have been appointed as new non-executive directors (NEDs) whilst current NED Sandra Hills has been appointed at the senior independent director. Also Shaun Stacey joins the executive team as chief operating officer.
Nick is experienced at NHS director-level with a proven track record in delivering value for money, service transformation, performance management, governance and audit services. Over the last twenty five years, he has worked with many and all types of NHS organisations. He is a non-executive director and chair of the Audit Committee at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and is currently a specialist advisor to the Care Quality Commission, where he supports its ‘Well-Led’ management inspections. He has previously had nine years’ NHS board-level experience as a non-executive director in a mental health trust and a large acute hospitals trust.
Jeff arrives with 30 years’ experience in aviation and security. He holds commercial and airline transport licences, but has been primarily focused in military operations including, instruction and examination in advanced aircraft systems. Jeff has held director level positions in both a government agency and commercial company. Currently owning a business management consultancy, he and his team service international clients by focusing on business processes, quality assurance, individual competencies and training. He is certified as an ISO lead auditor and is alum of the Harvard Business School and Le Cordon Bleu, London.
As the senior independent director Sandra will serve as a sounding board for the chairman and act as an intermediary for the other directors (non-executive and officers of the Trust). She will also be responsible for holding an annual meeting with NEDs, without the chairman present, to appraise the chairman’s performance.
Shaun originally trained as a nurse/operating department practitioner, before moving into the role of resuscitation officer. Shaun has a wide range of experience across mental health, acute care, private healthcare, hospice care, training and commercial healthcare. He has undertaken many senior management positions, including working in a number of London hospitals, and joined the Trust from the Isle of Wight NHS Trust where he held the same position.
Welcoming the new appointees the Trust’s chair Anne Shaw said: “I am delighted that we have been able to appoint three talented additions to our board of directors. Nick, Jeff and Shaun have invaluable skills to help the Trust as we continue to rebuild the organisation and improve services for local communities.
