For adults with disabilities and health conditions
Your Pathway is a programme designed to help unemployed people aged 18 years and over with a disability or health condition get the skills and work experience they need to progress towards employment.
Life and Loom work with the belief that shaping natural materials such as wool by hand into artisan products through a variety of traditional methods – for example; carding, spinning, dyeing, knitting, felting, sewing and weaving – can have a profound impact on the development of a person as a whole.
By being part of a social enterprise and engaging in handcraft, people learn more than purely academic and functional skills: they learn transferable work and life skills, and most importantly they learn to value themselves.
Our approach incorporates one day per week for 24 weeks in our safe and nurturing textile studio and is fully funded through the European Social Fund.
Life and Loom are based at 38-58 Selby Street, Hull, HU3 3PT
