An evening with Steve Chalke

Sent on behalf of Oasis Hub Hull:

Come and listen to Steve talk about how faith communities, local charities, and grassroots movements can get involved in transforming our communities for the better.

There will be lots of opportunity for questions and discussion too.

Steve Chalke is the founder of Oasis, a charity that runs schools, churches, community hubs, housing projects, a secure school and more.

Steve’s recent book ‘A Manifesto for Hope’ sets out ten tried and tested practical principles for how to develop joined up, cost effective, community empowering work, gleaned from the hard-won experience that sits at the heart of the mission of Oasis over the last four decades.

Join us for a conversation about how we may approach a different way of thinking. We need a new social covenant between government and local charities, grassroots movements and faith groups – one designed to create a less bureaucratic, more collaborative and imaginative approach to community development, and transform the life chances of countless children, young people and families.

Come and reimagine our community with us on Saturday, 15th June.

Doors open for refreshments at 7pm, Steve will talk at 7.30pm followed by Q&A
