Victim Support Relaunch Event

January 29 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

You are invited to join the Humberside and South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioners

(PCCs) to mark three years of Victim Support providing professional, independent advocacy and support services for all victims of crime in Humberside and South Yorkshire.

With dedicated staff and passionate volunteers, Victim Support is able to proudly celebrate the past three years and look enthusiastically to the next two.

The PCCs have extended the contract for another two years commencing on 1st February 2020.

Humberside and South Yorkshire Victim Support are leading the way nationally by being the first in the country to offer independent victims advocate accreditation for their staff.

You are invited to join Keith Hunter, PCC for Humberside and Dr Alan Billings, PCC for South Yorkshire, the Victim Support team and service users to spend the morning looking in detail at some of their successes and looking forward to future plans.

They are proud to be the first service nationally within Victim Support whose staff are currently completing an Open College Network (OCN) accredited course to become a Victim Care Advocate. Working alongside Commissioners, they have been able to develop an independent advocacy service which provides a single point of contact (SPOC) for victims of crime.

They are able to target support to those who need it most by using the Victim’s Code of Practice (VCoP) definitions to identify the most vulnerable, those who are being specifically intimidated and targeted, victims of repeat crimes as well as those experiencing the most serious crimes

To confirm your attendance or for further information contact Rebecca Smith at Victim Support on 07867 902093 or rebecca.smith@victimsupport.org.uk
