We support households who are living in, or at risk of, fuel poverty and who are finding it difficult to heat their homes at an affordable cost. Our activities are targeted at households where there is an elderly resident, children under 5 years old, a resident with a disability or long-term health condition or young people on a low income or who are moving into their first tenancies. We provide information and advice on reducing energy prices, accessing grants and other schemes that can help with their energy costs, dealing with energy debts, implementing energy efficiency measures and reducing energy use. Our work is delivered through one-to-one advice, training for frontline staff and community outreach sessions.
We are currently offering free online training to equip staff and volunteers from community groups and voluntary sector organisations as Community Energy Ambassadors. This is free for anyone based in Yorkshire, the Northeast and Cumbria.
