The Liaison and Diversion (L&D) service is a partnership between Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust (LCH) and Community Links, funded by NHS England to deliver L&D Services in Hull and East Riding, Grimsby, North and North East Lincolnshire.

Liaison and Diversion services identify people who have mental health issues, learning disabilities, substance misuse and all other vulnerabilities at point of entry into the criminal justice system as suspects, defendants or offenders.
We work with people for up to 12 weeks to find and refer them to services and organisations that will support them to address the vulnerabilities that have been identified. The main aim of the service is to divert people out of the criminal justice system and into the most appropriate support, increasing their engagement in longer term services.
We aim to improve outcomes for people and to support them to minimise their contact with the criminal justice system by ensuring the right support can be put in place from the start. Our team of Support Time Recovery Workers are assisted by Peer Support Volunteers and Volunteers who are studying Criminology, Psychology and related disciplines or those who have a genuine interest in supporting those who have recent contact with criminal justice with the aim to reduce re-offending.
