Barnardo’s DSI Service has been providing support to children & young people with a disability & their families across the region for a number of years.
They are looking to appoint a bank of Support Workers to provide support to young people with a disability or learning difficulty, aged 0-25 years, and their families across the East Riding of Yorkshire. Workers should be highly motivated & have a passion for engaging, supporting & empowering young people & their families.
They are looking for people with a flexible approach to working, as the hours available are predominately early mornings, evenings, weekends & school holidays. You will be required to meet the medical, physical, emotional & personal needs of the young people. This may include personal care such as feeding/toileting, showering etc.
The rate of pay is £9 per per hour (plus rolled up annual leave) In addition to this mileage is currently paid at 40p per mile & 45p per mile when transporting a young person or colleague.
You will receive full induction to the role & you will be provided with a comprehensive training package including, first aid, safeguarding, care of medicines & any other child specific requirements.
