Advice for parents and carers of early years children who have not yet started school

Nurseries and other childcare providers, including childminders, have been able to welcome back children of all ages since 1 June. No one expects parents to act as teachers or childcare providers. Or to be able to provide all the activities that a nursery might. 

However, while children gain a lot from nursery, there are things that parents do at home that can help their development more.
